What American accent do you have?

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

If the answer you got was way, way off what it should be, well, there's probably a reason for that, but we can't figure it out now.

What do you know, I'm from the Midland too, y'all!

I'm wondering if that Boston bar means that my secondary accent is from Boston? Kind of strange - I didn't think that the Boston and Midland accent was all that similar. Pretty nice that I have a good voice for TV and radio, don't ya think?

Well apparently I definitely have a Boston accent. Go figure. I wonder what caused that.

Hmmm, I figured it out. The Midland is one question away from "definitely Boston." The different question - how do collar and caller sound. Now that is not how I would define a Boston accent.

Apparently I'm midlands too. I think the quiz might be a bit skewed.

While I never really thought I had much of an accent, the quiz was right on as to my geography of origin (Midland was my #2):

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."
